York Art Gallery houses displays of fine paintings and ceramics over two floors and has a busy calendar of changing exhibitions, events and outreach work.
Our paintings span more than 600 years and range from 14th century Italian panels and 17th century Dutch masterpieces to Victorian narrative paintings and 20th century works by LS Lowry and David Hockney.
We also have a Gallery of Pots, showing a selection of our huge collection of 20th century ceramics and a Studio space, which hosts events and workshops.
